Below minimum specs?

With 8 GB RAM, Scribe Local automatically selects the lightest models (Whisper tiny, LLM Q4). Quality is reduced but the app works.

macOS

1. Download ScribeLocal.dmg from scribe.kortilabs.com/telechargement
2. Open the .dmg and drag Scribe Local to Applications
3. On first launch: right-click → Open (Gatekeeper asks confirmation the first time)
4. The app downloads AI models (~2-6 GB depending on your hardware) — one-time operation

Windows

1. Download ScribeLocal-setup.exe from the site
2. Double-click the installer — SmartScreen may ask for confirmation (More info → Run anyway)
3. Follow the installation wizard
4. On first launch, AI models are downloaded automatically

First launch — model download

On first launch, Scribe Local detects your hardware and downloads the appropriate models:

This operation is one-time only. It requires an internet connection. Once models are downloaded, the app works fully offline.
