Legal notice & GDPR
Publisher
Section titled “Publisher”Scribe Local is software published by a French micro-entrepreneur. Contact details available on request at [email protected].
Nature of the product
Section titled “Nature of the product”Scribe Local is a drafting assistant, distributed as software installed on the end user’s machine. It is not:
- A legal advice service
- An automated decision-making system (GDPR Art. 22)
- A data processor or sub-processor under GDPR Art. 28
No case data transits through the publisher. All processing (dictation, reformulation, indexing) is entirely local.
Limitation of liability
Section titled “Limitation of liability”Scribe Local does not provide legal advice. Documents it produces are drafts that the user must review, correct and validate before any professional use — the lawyer remains solely responsible for the acts and documents they produce and sign.
The publisher is not liable for the consequences of uncorrected transcription errors, non-compliant use, or data loss on the user’s machine. During the free launch period, the software is provided with no warranty and no compensation may be claimed on that basis.

Section titled “Sub-processors”| Sub-processor | Role | Location | Safeguards |

Neither sub-processor handles client case data.
Professional secrecy compliance
Section titled “Professional secrecy compliance”Scribe Local’s local architecture is compatible with professional confidentiality obligations applicable to lawyers:
- No consultation data leaves the lawyer’s machine
- There is no GDPR data processing relationship to establish with clients
- The absence of network traffic is verifiable by technical inspection (airplane mode, network monitoring)
Statement for your regulatory authority:
“The application establishes no network connection during use — all data stays on the firm’s machine. This can be verified at any time by a technical expert. There is no data processing relationship under GDPR Article 28 between the firm and the publisher.”
